A wine's character and
aroma are defined by the grape type or combination of grapes from which
it was made. Each grape variety is characterized by color, size, skin
thickness, acidity, yield per vine and flavors. Red wines are derived
from grapes that have been fermented with their skins. White wines
result from an aging process without contact with the skins. We have
compiled a list of common grape types, along with the regions in which
they are favored to grow.
